Description

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Media, Languages and Cultures is a research-intensive programme designed for candidates who wish to make original and significant contributions to the interdisciplinary study of media, language, and culture. Students undertake an independent, in-depth research project under the supervision of experienced academics, exploring areas such as media studies, sociolinguistics, cultural theory, translation, digital communication, globalisation, and intercultural exchange. The programme emphasises rigorous research methodology, critical analysis, data interpretation, and scholarly communication, supported by access to media labs, language facilities, and extensive academic resources. Graduates develop advanced analytical, interpretative, and communication skills, preparing them for careers in academia, research institutions, media and communication industries, cultural organisations, policy development, or leadership roles in international and interdisciplinary contexts, while also providing a pathway to further scholarly contributions in the field.
