Description

The Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons.) (Security Technology) at MMU is a three-year full-time degree programme designed to equip students with the knowledge and technical expertise in security management and technologies needed to protect digital and physical assets across government, corporate, retail, financial, and strategic facilities. The curriculum covers foundational IT and computing topics—such as programming, database systems, networking, operating systems, algorithms and discrete mathematics—before advancing into specialized subjects like computer security, information assurance, applied cryptography, malware and intrusion detection, digital forensics, password authentication and biometrics, and cyber-law and ethics. With practical components including industrial training and a final-year project, the programme prepares graduates to enter the workforce as security analysts, penetration testers, digital forensics investigators, systems analysts, security officers, or other security-technology professionals working in cybersecurity, asset protection, and risk management.
