Description

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at International Medical University (IMU) is a five‑year full‑time professional undergraduate programme designed to train students to become highly competent and ethical dental practitioners. The curriculum integrates extensive clinical skill development with strong scientific foundations, allowing students to diagnose, treat, and manage oral health conditions that affect overall wellbeing. From early exposure to patient care and supervised clinical placements in hospitals and community outreach settings to advanced learning in restorative, preventive, and surgical dentistry, students gain real‑world experience that prepares them for professional practice. IMU offers two study pathways: completing the entire five years at IMU, or starting at IMU and transferring to a partner dental school abroad, with degrees recognised for registration by the Malaysian Dental Council. The programme emphasises teamwork, problem‑solving, and compassion, equipping graduates for careers in both public and private sectors locally and internationally.
